Windows XP Pro Taskbar Freezing

I have read posts in the forum and in other forums about this and nothing seems to
exactly fit my situation or propose a solution.

I have just set up this computer. It's a Intel Dual Core Quad Extreme, 4G RAM, Dual
Nvidia 8800 GPU in SLI, with four monitors.

When I first boot, I can use the Taskbar and Start up menu for about a minute, then
it freezes completely, and never comes back. If I want to use the menu for another
minute, then I have to reboot.

I have run registry fixes, hijack this, spyware doctor, and antivirus until I am
blue in the face. About the only thing I haven't tried is wiping the boot disk and
reinstalling XP.

Nothing else about Windows Explorer freezes ... just the taskbar and start menu.
I can work on the computer just fine .... as long as I have it set up so that I
do not need the frozen bits. Of course, to shut down, I have to go to the task manager.

I will post a hijack this log if anyone thinks it will help.
