External hard drive Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 10:12 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Mike (19 messages posted) Configuration I have an external hard drive which connects to my PC through a USB cable. I have used it extensively to store pictures and information but suddenly it is no longer recognised when I plug it in. The green light comes on momentarily then turns to red.
