Right, if he determined that, as between the computer and the drive, it was the "drive," the next question would be, OK, what happens if you put the drive in a different enclosure?" I agree completely that the enclosures fail a lot more often (at least in my experience) than the drives themselves. And sometimes it's even the cable.
