Make sure you check your internet options..
Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Connection tab -> Lan Setup
Make sure everything is unchecked, then try accessing the internet. Also, make sure
there is no firewall/internet security software getting in the way, things like Norton
Internet Security tend to be troublesome with this kind of stuff.
Are you using IE?
Go to a command prompt and type 'ping yahoo.com' find out what your results are..
Does it get ping replies or not? Maybe it gives a host not found error, which would
signal a DNS issue?
