Windows Installer Issue

I recently got rid of some nasty trojans that crippled my pc for a while, and had to roll back my registry to regain control of the system components. Unfortunately, I've been having this nagging problem any time I try to delete, copy, paste, cut, etc. a file. Windows Installer popped up, asking me for the location of Symantec AntiVirus.msi. I don't have the file. I recently re-installed Symantec, as it was corrupted by one of the trojans. Any ideas as to how I can stop this? Should I turn off the MSI service?
