Glad to hear you got something going.
When you think about it, it makes sense that a bad battery could affect other things.
The A/C Power supply is constantly trying to keep the Battery at full charge. The
Power Supply has limited capacity beyond what it takes to operate the Laptop and
keep the Battery charged.
A good battery charges at a known rate, however, a bad battery is an unknown factor.
The charger my be using much of it's capacity for the battery, beyond design spec,
and not have enough power left to PROPERLY operate the Laptop.
IMHO, if all the other problems are resolved by removing the Battery, the Battery
is the most likely Suspect.
Not saying something else isn't amiss, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Wait
for the problems to present themselves and deal with what you can identify.
