Hi I have the Awax trojan and it has ground my computer to a halt. I did a NAV scan in normal and safe modes. In both scans it identified the file with the virus as being pmnlkKeb.dll, however NAV says it can neither Quarantine or Delete the file. Therefore I have a PC that is littered with pop-ups and is so slow that it is almost impossible to use. NAV's solution to remove this trojan (allegedly easy) is turn off System Restore (Done) scan to find the files infected (Done) then (and this is where it hits a big rock) boot up using the Windows XP CD and go into Windows Recovery Centre. Well I don't have a Windows XP CD because it came pre-installed as is often the case these days. I left home this morning with it trying to run Trend Housecall (likely to take 10 hours) but am not very hopeful. I am posting this from work, where I have downloaded Grisoft AVG and a program called Exterminate-It to try and run when I get home. This is serious for us because although all of our photos and music are on a now-disconnected external drive my wife cannot run MYOB for her business and I cannot update my website. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. I have already searched the Forums for Awax but didn't come up with anything. Thanks in advance.
