I checked out the links that you provided. At first they seemed to be dead on.
I was a little worried about regedit, but forged on. Unfortunately neither the sysoc.inf
changes or regedit helped with either of my problems. You probably know this, but
sysoc.inf was edited to remove "hide" in an attempt to unhide the programs from add/remove.
This made no change to my add/remove list. The Windows uninstall Registry was edited
to add the change/remove option to the programs in add/remove. My uninstall folder
in my registry is notable vacant other than the few programs that I installed last
night, (SP3, other updates, Zonealarm (which now works). My various other programs
are listed in my registry, but not in the uninstall folder. So that was a bust too.
