michele,
How long has it been since you've run Chekdsk or Defrag? After removing 2GB of files,
it might be to your advantage to Defrag the HDD and run Chekdsk.
Also will give you a break while the processes run.
Virtual Memory is just HDD space used to augment the Ram. VM is best handled by the
operating System, suggest you undo changes made.
Deleting the Restore points should not have caused any instability. The files are
basically static unless you elect to Restore the System via System Restore.
If you are getting any error messages when your computer restarts please post them
here exactly as seen on screen.
I don't think you are back to square one at all. You obviously had more than one
problem. One obviously software related, now it seems like the hardware is the focus.
BTW, could you post some info on your System? Make, model #,Processor type and Speed,
RAM in mb (128-256?) Size of HDD in GB?. Also, is your OS on a M$ WindowsXP CD or
a Manufacturer's Restore CD/CD's?
Don't give up, doing this Via a Forum is never easy unless the problems are easy.
