Michele,
Still here.
When I suggested chkdsk,I meant for you to run it from windows. Try this. Open My
Computer. Right click on the C:\ Drive option, click on properties. Go first to Disk
Cleanup and click on the Button. Delete anything found. Click cancell if all categories
are 0kb.
Click on the Tools tab and the first option should be "Error Checking". click the
Check Now tab. A box will pop up, check both options and click START. You will be
informed that it can't run till you next restart your Computer. Where it asks if
your want to schedule Error Checking select yes, click OK, close My Computer, then
shut down and restart your computer.
Now get ready to take a break, this will take some time. When it's finished write
down any messages in detail exactly as seen. If it stops for an error, write it down,
then Proceed. If you get the option to save a file of the scan select yes and write
down the file name. you may not get this option.
Enough for now. Post back with results.
I can't supply info on the RAM, I do not know the Manufacturer and Model of your
system. Sounds like an HP but that doesn't do me any good.
