Thanks. But, actually, I was unable to find these disabled items in the Run- key
(which is where I expected to find them based on my Win9x experiences). So, after
I posted the previous message, I went looking for a smarter Registry searcher than
the one in the Registry, which found the bogus keys, eventually, in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\MSConfig\startupreg. Deleting the bogus keys there seems to have done it, as
they are still missing from MSConfig after a reboot.
