I forgot to say... I plugged the USB cable into the modem and the computer. It told
me there was a 10mbps connection. It also told me: limited or no connectivity with:
physical address: 00-11-e6-e3-c3-8d
ip address 169.254.91.1
subnet mask 255.255.0.0
the other entries are blank
A repair yielded no change
