My home computer (Pentium-IV, Windows XP Professional) has been infected with Win32/Adware.Virtumonde
trojan. After booting the system, the following warning image is displayed on desktop
-
WARNING! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover
to clean your computer.
Warning! Win32/Adware.Virtumonde
Warning! Win32/privacyremover.M64
I searched for its removal instructions on the web, but the problem is that in order
to remove it -
(1) I am unable to boot in safe moade.
(2) If I try to search for specific files in Windows Explorer - it reboots the system
(I tried third party software also to search for specific files, but again the system
reboots).
Besides the above,
(3) After every booting, Windows firewall is disabled.
(4) All system restore points are gone, so I can not restore the system to an earlier
date.
Please suggest the remedy to remove the Win32/Adware.Virtumonde trojan in the above
circumstances
Thanks & Regards
Kumar
