I'll have to suggest she take the pc/hard disk somewhere that can copy/backup her files before attempting a fix. I've used Knoppix before, but as she has no pc/internet, thats not an option. Afraid her location doesn't give me/her the chance to pop around to a neighbour. Once she has all the files safely backed up, then we can do what ever is required.
