Well, there are a lot of reasons to keep it on the notebook. That is where it will
spend most of its time.
The same firewall is installed on both computers. It is provided by roadrunner,
the ISP. Of course I can't be sure it is set up the same way but I would bet it
is in the "default" setup on both.
I just remembered something. I mispoke when I said both computers were running XP.
Computer B is running XP Media Center.
