That depends on what you really did. How did you try to run the XP install disk? 
If from the CMD prompt, that is not outside of Windows. Can you boot 
with the XP CD?
If the drive is good, then you have one of the most frustrating XP problems on your 
hands where the only suggested fix (the filters edit) virtually never works.
