ntvdm.exe Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 1:55 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Tahj (2 messages posted) My wife ran a virus scan last night using spybot, and turned the computer off after it was complete. This morning when I go to log on, I receive the error message: "NTVDM.EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." All of this after a dozen or so DOS windows open up with c:\windows\system32\command.com or cmd.exe. Can someone please help me fix this. Thanks.
