I'm having the same problem as the rest of you with my Dell Inspiron e1405 laptop.
The taskbard icon always shows "On AC power" even when unplugged. And when I go
to Power Options my battery is listed as "Not Present", yet the computer keeps running
when unplugged from AC; so the battery must be working. To add further, the battery
will never enter a state of fast charge (constant green light), but is in a perpetual
state of trickle charge (flashes green every 8 seconds) reguardless of the laptop
being on or off.
My Microsoft Composite Battery driver is present in device manager, and I could not
delete it, but I tried Martin's process anyways.
Deleted the Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
drivers and rebooted. This did not fix it.
So I went for the dOGHAIR fix, installed it, rebooted, but it did not work either.
Any further help would be greatly appreciated.
