The folder is not compressed nor is it protected by a password. A few of the documents in it were openable and I dragged them out. I did nothing unusual in creating the file and have never bothered to learn about protecting a file with a password as I'm the only user. The file itself opens up immediately - its the documents that won't display. The unopenable documents were openable before they were dragged into this new folder.
