Can't get computer to "sleep" in Windows XP Professional

I can not select 'Stand By' or 'Hibernate' anywhere. I have tried the %windir% shortcut, only to get nowhere. With the heat of the summer, I would rather not leave my computer on all day, but I need it for work, so I come back often. It would be much more convenient for me to not have to turn it on and off.

Thanks in advance.
