Website click stopped working

I have windows XP and use Outlook Express for emails. I used to be able to click on a website name in my emails and I would automatically be taken to that website. For some reason or another that function doesn’t work for me anymore. It seems to me that somewhere on the computer there is a place where one can activate or deactiveate that function but I haven’t found it. Does anyone have any information about this problem? Thanks.
