Steve. I tried your latest fix (open Run box, type in regsvr32 urlmon.dll, click
OK) several times (got the screen message “DllRegisterServer in urlmondll succeeded”)
but I never was able to automatically get to a website when I clicked on it in an
email like I used to be able to.
When I go to MyComputer/tools/folderoptions/filetypes then scroll through Extensions,
the Details box below always mentions the same terminology as the extension I am
on. That is, if I am on ASF the Details box will say, “Details for ASF extension,”
then further down it will say, “Files with extension ASF are of the type -----.”
This is true of all Extensions I scroll through except the HTML Extension. If I scroll
down through the HTM extension and stop at HTML, the Details box will say, “Details
for the HTML extension” but further down it will say, “Files with extension HTM
are of the type ----.” Shouldn’t it say “Files with extension HTML?” If I scroll
past the HTML extension then scroll back up to it the Detail box will say “Details
for the HTML extension” but further down it will say “Files with extension HTT are
of the type ---.”
Does this shed any light on the problem? Any further help would be appreciated.
