Are you saying that if you type www.google.com into your browser's address bar nothing happens ? Any error messages ? What happens if you type ping www.google.com at a command prompt ? First I'd check for malware - run scans with MalwareBytes and SuperAntispyware - both are free and reasonably agressive. Then - assuming you are using IE - disable all your add-ons and see if that fixes the issue. Re-enable one at a time if it does, to find the culprit. Then take a look at your Hosts file to see if google.com is blocked there (could be a leftover of malware).
