dos command file hangs Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 10:42 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by david (56 messages posted) Over the past several days, I've experienced a problem with a cmd file hanging up. I use it to start a service that I prefer not to start automatically on boot. Normally when I click on the shortcut, the two commands contained in the file execute and the window closes in the blink of an eye. But now, after the commands execute, the window doesn't close. I have to force-terminiate. Also, when I open a DOS window and type Exit, the DOS window hangs and I have to force-terminate. Any idea what could cause this?
