Defragging your hard drive is only needed if file fragmentation is slowing the system
down, and XP has to be very very badly fragmented for it to have a real effect on
speed. Defrag venders will tell you it is a miracle cure for any slow system but
the truth is that XP rarely needs a defrag and when it does the built in defragger
is perfectly capable of handling the job.
