If it's a bug they should fix it immediately. I've always been suspicious of AVG's Resident Sheild so I disabled it and that fixed the problem. As a bonus two of my machines now have a noticeable improvement in responsiveness!...I'll get to several others soon. I've posted this on AVG's forum as well where there are several complaints about this.
