Gaming Problems w/ XP

I have many problems playing games or just installing them. After I installed Tony
Hawk Pro Skater 2 and ran the program I got error messages saying "The application
failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application."
I've ran it many times on 98se/ME. Could it be possible that this game doesn't run
on XP? Also in XP I tried to install The Sims. This time it wouldnt even let me install
it. It came up with an error saying "(3.20) C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local
Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for the Sims.zip\sim install\Install.exe: DIspatcher
initialisation error 11" I've ran this on other comps with 98se/ME also and it runs
fine. I downloaded this game off of a website, so maybe XP wont let me install this
type of game. Any suggestions?

If you right click on the program/game shortcut on your desktop, or wherever it is
stored, and click on Properties, and then click again on the Compatibility tab, you
will come to the wonderful WinXP system of emulation. In brief, you can run that
particular program in compatibility mode for a specific OS. Try it...
