Windows Xp Home Edition won't start!!

Windows Xp Home Edition won't start!!

Can someone please help me, windows xp won't start. everytime i try to boot it, it
displays the following message: We apologize for the inconvenience, but windowa did
not start successfully. A recent hardware of software change might have cause this.
At the bottom there are a options how i can boot
safe mode
safe mode with networking
last know config
start normal
i've tried all of them and it does not give me the results i want, the pc freezes
please help
