XP Pro Networking at home.

My XP Pro SP2 company Laptop won't see my home PC XP Pro shares and vice versa. I've
tried a number of things including changing the laptop workgroup to my "HOME" workgroup
which promptly disabled my cached domain user ID that the company laptop uses. Anyhow,
how do I share and see my laptop resourses and shares on my home PC and vise versa,
(I also can't see my home PC on the network with my laptop)?

Have you disabled all firewalls ?? Also - when you do get them communicating, just
give the home PC the domain/workgroup name that the laptop uses, that way they can
communicate, and your company logo/infomation doesn't dissapear.

Thanks for the response Ashley. Actually I have shut XP firewall off for both including
zone alarm and the wireless router as well, Nothing ever shows up under my network
places though. I will try the domain/workgroup at the "safe" end this time. My IS
guy got me re-connected to the domain and when I shared with him what I was trying
to do he didn't have much for me except to try setting up a secondary DNS with the
IP address of my home PC. OK, we'll just see.
Thanks again for your input.

Shutting down all firewalls is the WORST thing you should do! Especially
if you are still connected to the internet. Your networking will work with a firewall,
however you will need to configure it to allow the network traffic.
