The manufacturer should be listed on the card. If not get on a PC with internet,
Google for 'Everest'. It is an app that you can download to analyze what is on your
PC. Put the file on a floppy or CD and then load it to yours. Once you run Everest
it will tell you just about everything you need to know about your PC.
Good Luck,

Nizami...most dialup modems are built around chips made by Conexant, PCtel and others
and are known as "soft modems" or HSP modems (host software processor) because your
PCs processor actually does most of the work. Take the modem out and look to see
what chip it's based on and also make note of any other numbers you see, then go
to Google and do a search on them. Sometimes you may have to try a few to find one
that works for you. Of course, you'll have to do this from a PC that has internet
access. Save several on one or more floppies and try them out. A good place to start
is conexant.com if it's a Conexant based modem. They don't make modems, just the
chips, but they have a bunch of generic drivers that usually work well. If no luck
there, try driverguide.com...Larry

Nizami...You can get JUST the modem driver from the HP site. I just went there and
searched for "omnibook" and came up with 49 models...checked one at random and found
the modem driver/installer, download size 2.6MB. Find your model and follow the links
to the modem driver. Cut and paste this into your browser: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=omnibook&submit.x=7&submit.y=8

Nizami...that's kinda strange (to me) that the only way to get the driver is part
of a 43MB bundle. Try sending an email to HP tech/customer support and see if they
can send just the modem driver...Larry
