How do I find a mouse driver?

I have aquired a PC but I don't have the original instal disks for it. I seem to
have a corrupted mouse driver and the logical thing would be to reinstall the drivers.
Since I don't have the original disks I need to download them but what do I need
to look for?
The PC is an Acer L100 with Acer mouse and I've failed to locate one for it. Is there
a generic driver I could use or way of identifying the driver(s) that would work.
Any advice on how to proceed appreciated
Mike

Mike, if you suspect a corrupt mouse driver, you can usually delete it, reboot and
XP will install one, although it might be a "generic" Windows driver, it should work...otherwise,
you could attempt to search the website of the manufacturer...

Microsoft Drivers are the generic ones. Normally deleting the mouse Drivers in the
Device Manager, and rebooting is all you would need to do. If the Mouse has extra
mouse Buttons or features that are not part of a standard off the shelf mouse, then
visit the Acer Web site for driver Downloads.

Thanks Guys. I'll try the delete/re-boot and see what happens. The Acer web site
BTW is useless from what I can see. I did email them but no reply!

Acer won't have a Driver it there is nothing special about it. Even if the mouse
had some special features the basic mouse should work, like scroll wheel, and right,
and left click buttons. The mouse may also just be defective, and no driver will
fix that.
