i just installed a fresh copy of windows xp and its not detecting my network card or whatever ive got in there, i use windows vista on the same computer and it uses the internet fine, i use nforce driver for it, so i got the drivers for xp but i cant do anything with them because i dont know which device is the network

Look in Device Manager, any piece of Hardware that Windows didn't have a Driver for will be marked in Yellow.

lol, im not that much of a noob, thanks for the tip anyways, i was looking in my device manager because i had found a program that showed all my devices. it turns out, for some reason my network client was hidden, so now that ive got it so i can hidden devices i cant install any drivers on it for some reason, ive downloaded 2 different driver packs from nvidia but neither one has shown any results, ill keep downloading more,

Never Heard of a Hidden Network, but who ever made your Computer, or the motherboard manufacture is where you can download the Drivers from. Most people have a Driver Cd that came with the computer.

i got it working, unfortunatly i never got a disk that had my ethernet drivers, i had to download them from nvidia, and as far as the device being hidden, thats the first ive ever seen of something like that aswell, i dont even remember how i found it just messing around in the options
