I have an HP Photosmart C7280 Printer that has been on my computer for a while and
works fine. Lately however, whenever I turn the computer on or turn on the printer,
the Windows "Found New Hardware" notice pops up and begins prompting me through the
installation of the printer software. HP has not been able to help. Anyone have
an idea how to turn this pop-up off? Thanks.

just reinstall it.. i've had to reinstall things a number of times with xp. it's
one of those "annoyances" but it's not a big problem. xp just forgets sometimes.

Google "found new hardware" and you will find a number of solutions for that particular
problem.
