Paperport does not preserve layers

When I print a document from paperport 8 to cutepdf, Adobe cannot search the resulting
document. It will open but show no layers of text. Other applications seem to work
fine. This is killing me since I have tried everything I can think of. Someting in
the conversion is removing the text layer of the .max (paperport) document. Someone
please help!

That is a very old version of Paperport. I doubt that it is fully compatible. I would
advise searching for a decent file converter program. Cheers. Spexx.

That's the way scanners work, they convert whatever is being scanned into a bit mapped
graphical image, i.e. not text. You need to use OCR software to convert it back to
text, then save it as a pdf.
