Taskbar "Hide Inactive Icons" Customize prob

In Taskbar Properties "Hide Inactive Icons" "Customize", I can only get one icon on the list to change at a time. If I change another one, the first one reverts to "Hide When Inactive." Any idea what's going on?

Thanks for the help, Spex. Doesn't look like it would help my problem. I actually saw another message that said to try unticking the "hide inactive icons" box and then ticking it it again to try and restart the system notification area. I already tried clicking on Defaults with no luck re my prob.

Setting the Start and Taskbar properties to their defaults might help - tweak 117, LH column, here.

Thanks. Will try nodesktop.reg (#117).
