How to block unwanted email messages

Friends: Could someone tell me how to permanently block unwanted email messages at
source level from getting through to Outlook Express? Right now they are coming into
my "deleted items" folder and I have to go there to permanently delete them. Better
still how to do so at the router level. I set up key words on my router's firewall
but they are still coming through. Thanks for any help.

MY ISP has the Spam filters right at the ISP Servers, and stops them there. I haven't
seen a Router for Home use that would do it.

You'll never stop it...
What I did was set up a mail server with my own growing blacklist and occasionally
use a commercial blacklist. Spam still get through. It's easier to change addresses
a couple times a year.

server without downloading there is a free version

You might try the win version of this:
http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/
You have to teach it identifying about 50-100 meassages of spam and 50-100 messages
of ham. I have a one of these on my [non-win] email program, and it catches over
95% of the incoming spam. It's sent automatically to the trash folder, where I look
to be sure it hasn't accidentally mislabled a ham message as spam before emtying
the trash.
