HP DV6000 Laptop will not read SDHC 4Gb cards

Hello,
I have a HP DV6000 Laptop with XP Home that will not read 4G SDHC Cards. I have
tried 3 card readers, including a 5 in 1 Transcend, an HP USB Digtigal Drive, and
most recently a Sandisk reader that is specifically for SDHC with larger memory.
At this point, I have concluded the problem is not related to the card or the reader.
The problem must be related to the laptop. In fact, there is a a known dv5000 and
dv8000 issue for SDHC cards with 4 GB of memory, which is what I have. The fix is
to download a TI driver, which I did, but that did not solve the problem. I downloaded
the driver and installed it. I am sure if there is anyhing else I need to do go
get the driver and reader to work. When I use the device manager, it still says
that i am using a Microsoft driver.
Can anyone help with this issue? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Thank you very much,
Michael

If it has not installed the required device driver and is still defaulting to the
Microsoft one, you need to kinda force it to take the one you want. In device manager,
right-click on the device and select Update Driver. As you go through the dialogs,
do not let Windows make any of the decisions for you and it will eventually ask you
to choose a driver from a list of suitable drivers that it knows about from the .inf
files stored on the PC. Choose the appropriate driver and click OK to allow Windows
to install it. Reboot and look in device manager again, to make sure that it is using
the newly-defined driver. Hope this helps. Cheers. Spexx.
