original administrator account?

ok, now that I have XP MCE OEM installed, I started out with just "administrator"
which was a superuser/root/administrator account, right. So I wanted to create a
user account for daily use. I went to do that, and it required me to make another
root account first, so I made one called "root" that was an "administrator". Then
I created one called "brian" which was a "limited user". Question is, where did "administrator"
go? If I log in under "root" and go to the User Accounts manager, I see only "root"
and "brian", where is that original "administrator"? Did it get deleted? I certainly
did not intentionally delete it. It is a concern because if I can't access it, I
can't change the password periodically which in theory could be a security hole if
a hacker gains access to the PC. Let me know your thoughts, guys...

From the Welcome screen you log on with the Administrator account, buy pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del twice to bring up the logon window, which then allows you to log on as Administrator, or from the Safe mode.

Steve, why did you have to tell him? We could have had a lot of fun with this!

LOL. I thought it, you said it. I still remember the first time I came across this and thought "well where on earth did that go?" or words to that effect. Cheers. Spexx.

all right, that worked, that is weird as hell though! give me a normal UNIX login procedure any day! :) does Win XP home do that as well? That's definitely a "Windows Annoyance" lol ;-)

XP Home is even worse. You only get the Administrator account in Safe mode with that one. I forget that sometimes and it can be frustrating. Cheers. Spexx.
