There is no advantage to having SP3, its just a fully updated SP2. Either uninstall SP3 via add/remove programs or do a system restore back to a day it was working fine. Your problem could probably by solved other ways, but I don't have a guide to do it. Do that and it will first give a list of updates which which you can check/uncheck to install. Any that you uncheck, it will present you with a further dialog to select whether to ask you about them again or not. Do that with SP3 and just say no. You can always get it to offer previously-refused updates again via an option in Control Panel - Automatic Updates. Hope this helps. Cheers. Spexx.
