I reinstalled Java as Steve said, but I get the message "class not registered" so
I still can't open my scanner etc. Since java virtual is not available what program
can I use to open my scanner etc?

Why don't you try reinstalling the scanner. Won't hurt anyway.

I couldn't find much info on the error. I have a Scanner installed on a old Computer
