how to fix sounds

ok so i am hoping someone here will help with me issue. i am having a problem with
a sound theme from a program i have installed.
i have tried numerous times changing the sound theme to a different one and even
reverting back to windows default sounds. i have gone into my sound settings to try
and fix it, i have gone into the program itself and tried to fix it and even tried
going into another realted program to fix the issue and nothing has worked. the sound
that is aggravating me and wont go away is the sound that happens when i click on
the x to close a window. so i am assuming that there is a registry entry for stuff
like this, i am hoping there is and so thats my question, can someone if this is
possible, direct me in the right direction to get to this setting in my registry
and fix it? i am an advancer windows user so am comfortable with tweaking stuff this
way just in case anyone asks. thank you so very much in advance! Jenny

ok lol, i guess i should of mentioned that this sound scheme is not in my sounds
settings in windows nor is it in the related program, or the program which did this.
its a part of a windows theme so the setting for these sounds is like embedded somewhere
unknown to me that is why i am asking if there is somewhere in the registry i can
fix this. its very annoying.

I don't think anyone here can help solve a problem with so many unknowns, everything
that controls sounds from with Windows can be changed in that dialog box. Individual
programs have sound settings listed within the registry, but you haven't even bothered
to identify "the related program."

in the control panel, when you go into your sounds and audio devices properties, in
the sounds tab, there is a box above the sound choices, that lets you save a sound
theme. open up that box and see what's saved, and either delete it, or create a new
sound scheme and save it.

ok i do apologize for not stating the name of the program, i didnt do it cuz i have
tried using this programs feature to fix it and i have tried windows sound thing
and nothing works, the program is windows blinds, i applied a halloween theme that
has an annoying crashing thunder sound that goes off on only certain windows i close,
not sure why it does not do it on all of them, i have gone into windows blinds and
told it to not apply sounds and that did not work, the related program is the sound
packager program which i have gone into and tried applying a dfferent theme too,
i have looked in those themes cuz it allows me to there for something like a sound
that goes off when i close something and found it and told it not to make a sound
and ya that did not work, windows blinds does not have a feature in its program where
i can view the sounds associated with a theme and turn them on and off, the sound
theme for it is not even listed in the sound packager program or in my sound settings
for windows, nor are any of the themes sound packager has, i guess it is all independent,
anyways i have not yet tried to make my own theme using windows sound settings but
i guess thats cuz i do not think it will work which is why i asked for a registry
tweak of some sort. anyways so thats my issue in detail. i hope this helps in my
quest for a registry fix.

Go to C, Program Files, Stardock, Object Desktop, Windowblinds, Then open the theme
your looking for and you will find different sounds usually identified by a musical
note icon. Just delete the ones you don't want.

Since the problem is related to Windows Blinds, any related problems are a topic
for the Stardock site, not here. They must have discussion forums, so I'd check to
find out.

Yeah, that was pretty significant info to leave out.
Definitely NOT an XP issue.

She was probably hoping nobody would ask. This is another one of those, "don't you
hate it when that happens" moments. :)

ok ya know what EVERYONE, this is exactly why I did not mention the program cause
what I know is that soo many of you are soo big on ooo it must be an xp issue, blah
blah blah that is why I did not mention the program, for your information I did go
to their forums and if one of you can find my answer there be my guest, I'm not a
computer retard so I know to do that, I am not Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, I don't
write programs and I don't know the answer to absolutely everything computer, but
I know most stuff, which is alot, alot more than every single one of my friends because
I took the time to learn. I wanted to know if there is some setting in the registry
because I have tried everything else and I know enough to know that there probably
is and through like 7 replies give or take a couple absolutely no one has even paid
attention to that, what a bunch of geniuses you all are! It's very annoying and rude
to talk about people in the third person like they aren't there because PEOPLE she
has a name its JENNY and I stated that in my first post, you might try calling someone
by their name sometime and see what happens and who ever it was that said there is
some music note icon is DELUSIONAL. there is nothing there, I have not seen this
note since I started using windows blinds. You know what else is really annoying
is how many replies I got stating the OBVIOUS, seriously I did say I am an advanced
computer user, I know the avenues to take to try and fix the issue on my own, its
honestly like not one of you really read my entire post.
So whatever I guess I was wrong in thinking there was anyone here who could actually
help or would for that matter!

Jenny, rules are rules, and there's got to be a line drawn somewhere.
After all, if you have problems with a third party program, get support/help from
the vendors. Either that, or locate a forum that has sub-forums for misc software.
This isn't one of them.
