I have a mystery 'window' that often starts on my Windows XP machine. It can't be seen as a window in the taskbar, doesn't appear in the Applications tab of the task manager, and doesn't have an obvious entry in the Processes list. It does appear on the tab-through application select box (from an Alt-Tab) as "Hidden Twenty", but cannot be activated. I'm not aware of it causing problems, but would like to know if it's an anti-piracy driver installed by Adobe or Microsoft... or something else. There's no results in Google for this! Has anybody come across this before and might be able to advise what this application is doing? Thanks in advance! OzFenric!

It's almost surely malware.

I just found I had the same window, but only sometimes.

I installed the very useful app "Process Explorer", which lets you see the window
title associated with any process, and it ended up being associated with my Kingston
USB key, which has a secure/private storage area.

Mystery solved. Not Malware.

Damon.

Thanks, Damon! I'll have to look up that Process Explorer tool. OzFenric!
