How do I add or remove sound events from Control Panel?

Intended For
Windows Vista

Windows 2000
Windows Me
Windows 98
Windows 95
You can remove unwanted sound events by editing the Registry (using REGEDIT.EXE) by removing the respective keys from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ AppEvents\ EventLabels and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ AppEvents\ Schemes\ Apps\ .Default. If that doesn't work, look in the [Sounds] section of your WIN.INI file. However, you cannot add new evens and expect them to be integrated into the operating system without using third-party software made especially for this purpose.
