How do I remove unwanted programs from the "Open With" list?

Intended For
Windows Me
Windows 98
Windows 95
The Open With list allows you to associate new file types on the fly. Here's how to clear out some of the clutter:
  • These are all the applications you have configured in your file types.
  • Simply remove any unwanted file types, and the associated applications will disappear from this list.
  • If that doesn't do it (and you've already uninstalled the application in question), search your registry and remove any references to the program you find.
