Special folders no longer work like they should

There have been many reports of special folders, such as Fonts, Printers, or Network Neighborhood, no longer working.
This is a common problem, which usually involves a corrupted or missing desktop.ini file, a hidden file located in each of the special directories.
Most of these can be solved with the Repair tab of TweakUI.
