Tip: Run a free scan for common Windows Registry errors ad

All of my desktop icons just became corrupted - what do I do?

Intended For
Windows Me
Windows 98
Windows 95
Delete the file ShellIconCache in your Windows directory, and restart (note that it's hidden, so you'll have to show hidden files to find it).

TweakUI also has a feature to repair your icons, although it may not repair all of them (such as Internet Shortcut icons).
